Organise content into an effective learning and teaching sequence.

Throughout both my education and experience as a teacher I have demonstrated a strong understanding of the concepts related to Digital Technology. I have used the Australian Curriculum and SACE alongside my content knowledge to design my units, lessons and tasks in such a way that students of many different learning needs are able to participate. The teaching strategies I employ involve theoretical and practical activities, direct instruction and self-learning.
An example of one of my course LAPs can be found here: Year 9 Digital Technology LAP

Use curriculum, assessment and reporting knowledge to design learning sequences and lesson plans.

As a teacher I have a strong understanding of the Digital Technology Curriculum, assessment and reporting. I have written, based on the both ACARA and SACE curriculums, tasks designed to assess student learning based on my planned learning sequences and plans.

An example of such a learning sequence can be seen my Year 10 Digital Technology Learning Sequence. Students work though scafolded tasks that progress in complexity while teaching desired skills and abilities. The culmination of these tasks is the creation of a choice game, students are able to demonstrate there programming capability and understanding freely while allowing me the ability to assess this ability and understanding against the curriculum.

Task 1 - Muppet Face
Task 2 - Maze Game

Demonstrate broad knowledge of, understanding of and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and languages.

During my university tenure I studied the topic "Teaching Indigenous Australian Students". This topic covered the history, culture, peoples, and context for Indigenous Australian students within education.
Likewise I also helped extensilvy in the implemntation of One Plan at the my current Site. This work required setting up goals and achivements, mapping student success and their current ability levels against related standards all in relation to our Indigenous Students.

Know and understand literacy and numeracy teaching strategies and their application in teaching areas.

Literacy and Numeracy are both key in the overall education of students. I strive to devise fun and interesting ways to implement both Literacy and Numeracy within Digital Technology.
During Year 9 Digital Technology I have students compelete tasks with both literacy and numeracy focuses. For literacy students build simple caculators and pythagoras theorm calculators, to make these calculators students need to demonstrate an undertanding of the underlying mathematical principles. For Numeracy I have students create simple and complex visual adventures. These tasks have students look at creating a descriptive text based game with world descriptions, conversations and player choice.

Implement teaching strategies for using ICT to expand curriculum learning opportunities for students.

ICT is a skill that all students will need to use throughout their education. To help increase the ICT capability of all students I have designed an implemented an ICT topic that was ran at a Year 8 level. This class focused the use of ICT in learning areas including Mathematicss, Science and English. Students where taught how to use programs such as Excel and powerpoint for Science and Maths, and Word for English. Tasks included Formatting Documents, cacluating the Gross Profit of a small buisness in excel and presentations.

In my Year 10 Digital Technology class I recently implemented a revised version of the data analytics unit. This unit focused on retrieving data, understanding it and using the data to create information. I presented this in an engaging way via the use of a Murder Mystery hidden within the data set.
